3rd Annual Challenge of Color Reveal!!!

I was torn between the two palettes selected for me, so I decided to use both!  I should note that I challenged myself a bit more by committing to only use beads that I already had on hand.  So I dug through boxes, jars, and bowls of bead soup to find the combinations I wanted.

To represent the Namib Desert palette I created a statement necklace using leopard print beads, silver pearls, and various other types of beads in shades of brown. For the Meighen Island palette, I used watery blue lamp work and other glass beads combined with vibrant green pearls in a 5-strand bracelet with a slide clasp. Both items are for sale in my Etsy shop StrandedInTheCity. You can see a full list of the participants with links to their blogs below. Enjoy!

What great pieces. I especially like the 2nd piece although I’m not a big blue fan. Love the color and texture in it. I had blue in one of my challenge pieces, too. But I think you did an outstanding job with your palettes.

  4. mtrudinger says:

Lovely pieces, I really love the bracelet colours!

  5. Your Namib desert piece is smashing and grey pearls it all together. The triple strand bracelet is lovely.

  6. Both pieces are wonderful, but I like the bracelet. I always like subtle colors with that pop of bright color.

  23. Miss Kris- thank you for joining me in this journey of color! I love that you challenged yourself to do both, but also to use what you have. I did the same! I like both. The blues and greens remind me that spring will return and would be a great thing to wear in the gray days of December. And that other one is such a great statement. I would love to wear that with jeans and a tshirt. Thanks for playing! Enjoy the day! Erin
